A block of rooms has been reserved at The Millennium Hotel at 2800 Campus Walk Avenue, Durham, NC. The block of rooms has been reserved at the special group rate of $95 single/double per night plus 6% N.C. sales tax and 5% occupancy tax. To make reservations, call the hotel directly at 919.383.8575. To receive this rate, please request a room in the “Stem Cell Research” block. Reservations at this special rate will only be available until Friday, September 28, 2001. Reservations made after this date will only be acceptable on a space/rate availability basis.

Directions To The Sanford Institute

The Sanford Institute is on Duke's West Campus on the corner of Towerview Road and Science Drive. The Institute is adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium and across Science Drive from the Law School.

STEM CELL RESEARCH: THE LATEST SCIENCE, THE CONTROVERSY AND THE COVERAGE will take place in Lecture Hall 04 in the Sanford Institute.

Parking

All conference attendees should park in the Whitford Parking Lot off Whitford Drive unless otherwise notified. Whitford Drive is the next left after the Sanford Institute when driving south on Science Drive towards Cameron Boulevard. See map below. The Whitford lot is free. Free Parking is also available along Towerview Road.

From the East (I-95, Raleigh, RDU Airport via I-40 West)

• If you are traveling on I-95, take I-40 West toward Raleigh
• Take I-40 West toward Research Triangle Park
• North on Durham Freeway (Hwy 147)
• Exit on Chapel Hill St. (2nd exit after Durham Bulls Athletic Park)
• Turn Right on to Chapel Hill St.
• Go straight as street turns in to Duke University Rd.
• Turn Right on Towerview Rd. (2nd right after Chapel Dr.)
• Go straight until you reach Science Dr.
• The Sanford Institute is on your Left
  

From the West and Southwest (Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro via I-40 East and I-85 North)

• Take I-85 North when I-40 and I-85 fork
• Exit on Hwy 751 (It will say "To Duke University")
• Turn Right on to Hwy 751 (Cameron Blvd.)
• Stay on 751 - you will pass under 15-501 and pass Erwin Rd.
• Turn Left on Science Dr.
• The Sanford Institute is on your Right at the first intersection (Towerview Rd.)

From the North (DC, Richmond via I-85 South)

• Take I-85 South into Durham
• Exit (on the left) on to 15-501 South
• Exit on Hwy 751 (Cameron Blvd.)
• Turn Left on Science Dr.
• The Sanford Institute is on your Right at the first intersection (Towerview Rd.)

From Chapel Hill via 15-501

• East on 15-501 toward Durham
• Take the 15-501 bypass before South Square Mall
• Exit on Hwy 751 (Cameron Blvd.)
• Turn Left on Science Dr.
